TOE JAM MONDAYS: The “Love†Song
It’s Valentine’s Day! The day that is supposed to be about love and relationships, hearts, kisses and snuggles right? I wanted to post some love songs on this week’s post in homage to this Hallmark holiday, but as most of you know, this was like searching for a needle in a hay stack. Love and all that comes along with it has been a great inspiration for musicians – probably since the first caveman made a beat pounding some rocks together and grunted his musings to his favourite cavewoman – so how could I possibly narrow this down?
Love is such a complex emotion. Sometimes it’s something found in the soul and sometimes it’s something found in the bedroom. Sometimes it’s shared between two people and sometimes it’s sought after from afar. And sometimes just when you think it’s the best thing thats ever happened to you, you wish it never happened at all.
There is no one song that could express what love means, but there is no shortage of tunes on the topic. Nat and I sat down this week and tried to think of all the different types of love there is. To be honest, we were amazed at all the scenarios of love we were coming up with and thought it would be the perfect way to share some love songs with the MvM readers. So, here is a list of only some of the ways that love can be expressed followed by a song that evokes that same emotion. I know that I missed some of the best love songs of all time, but I would love to hear what songs you would have picked, so let me know!
