What is the true spirit of Halloween? Dressing up? Eating candy? Being with friends? Well local DJs and Designers Jason Mante (DJ Nights) and Art Commisso (DJ Vik Versa) think it should be about all of these things, and bicycles as well!

The steady rise of fixed gear bicycle riders in Hamilton and surrounding area has created a need for a scene – A community of riders, new and old, but built on an all–welcoming foundation of positives vibes and good people – and its going down for the first time, Halloween party style. This Friday, cyclists of all kinds are coming together in the spirit of Halloween to hunt for monsters.

The Monster Mash is a bicycle scavenger hunt where riders follow a map of clues using a camera or phone to “shoot monsters” that are placed throughout the city. Prize contributions have been made by from some generous local clothing designers (Villains, Trace Apparel and Peter Says Denim) and will awarded for various events such as longest skid, fastest finalist and best costume.

Don’t think that you need to be a seasoned fixed gear rider just to attend. The event is open to riders of all skill levels, fixed gear or not. All they ask is that you bring a bicycle and a positive attitude!

The MASH begins at 7:30 on Friday October 29th at 116 George Street (Absinthe Lounge) in Hess Village in Hamilton.
The event is 100% free as well as the after–party (Also at Absinthe Lounge) where the duo (Mante and Commiso) will be DJing afterwards.

Be sure to dress up!
