I am NOT a doctor…but here’s a little song I wrote; you might want to sing it note for note…

“Laughter in and of itself cannot cure cancer nor prevent cancer, but laughter as part of the full range of positive emotions including hope, love, faith, strong will to live, determination and purpose, can be a significant and indispensable aspect of the total fight for recovery.”
-Harold H. Benjamin, PhD

These days I am all about laughing as much as I can, keeping a positive attitude and being as worry-free as humanly possible. Filling you life with worry and negativity isn’t good and doesn’t help matters. The more you dwell on/worry about something, the worse it becomes.

“Several studies have shown that a positive attitude or emotional state can boost your chances of surviving cancer. In one study, among patients with metastatic (spreading) cancers, those who expressed greater hope at the time of their diagnosis survived longer. In another study, over 400 reports of spontaneous remission of cancer were reviewed and analyzed. The patients themselves attributed their cure to a broad range of causes, but only one factor was common to all the cases” – Healingcancernaturally.com

Sure, there are going to be instances through life where it may seem impossible to be happy and not worry – especially when cancer is involved. I wish I could say I was always armed with a positive mindset when seeing my Nana and Papa deal with cancer, but unfortunately I was not. I tried to be as much as I could. Our family bond has a lot to do with humor and most of the time we can be found joking around. It’s a great support system we have and it’s helped us through the hard times. As rough as things were, we still managed to fit in laughter as often as we could!

Personally, I find that the following TV shows produce tons of humor! So whether the chips are down, or you’re just in the mood to laugh and gather up some positive vibes, check them out:

-Arrested Development

In my humble opinion, this is one of the best shows in TV history. I haven’t loved a show like this since the days of Seinfeld. This 3 season classic was unceremoniously canned by Fox, but as a result, gained a cult-like status, with an upcoming movie in the works.

A.D. deals with undoubtedly one of the most dysfunctional families, the Bluths, as they deal with jail, treason, puppets, illusions, bananas, kissing cousins, “blue’ing” one’s self and loose seals!

I highly recommend you check it out if you haven’t seen it, and even if you have – watch it again, it only gets better!

-It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia

This show follows the exploits of four of the rudest, crudest members of society. These people have no redeemable qualities whatsoever…except for being ridiculously hilarious! Join them won’t you, as they own and operate Paddy’s Irish Pub in Philly, while getting into tons of crazy scenarios. Danny DeVito even gets added into the fray at the beginning of the second season!

-Eastbound & Down

Meet Kenny Powers. Kenny is a down-on-his-luck former baseball superstar that has been reduced to living with his brother and his family. He becomes a Phys-Ed teacher in a small town and tries to hook up with a girl he liked in his youth. And he swears a lot!
