OCTOBER 31ST

Halloween is here and do you know what that means?

It means we are just one day away from the 2011 season of MOVEMBER – a time where dudes everywhere grow sweet moustaches and their women rejoice by their side…uh, right?

In all seriousness, it’s a time where men grow moustaches and along with women everywhere raise funds and awareness in the battle against prostate cancer.

Having said that, every Monday on Monsters vs Me throughout Movember will feature a Mo Profile highlighting the men throughout history who have attained success largely in part to their ‘staches.

I couldn’t think of a more appropriate man to kick this off this series than Wendel Clark. This hockey icon was a badass and one of the toughest SOB’s to ever step on the ice. His resume includes spots on teams such as the Quebec Nordiques, Chicago Blackhawks and the Toronto Maple Leafs, whom he captained from 1991-1994.

Speaking of 1994 that was the last time Clark had shaved his trademark moustache (and later a goatee.) 17% of the current Canadian population was not alive the last time W to the C was totally clean shaven.
That all changed when Wendel hacked off his facial hair this past Saturday at the Leafs game. Clark immediately started growing it back in support of Movember.

Wendel Clark has always been a team player and remains as such as part of his Movember team.

Check back next week for an entry about an ImMOrtal!
